Bruce Kanarek, Co-Chair has over 10 years of business consulting experience with Fortune 500 companies and more than five years experience working with not-for-profits. Bruce has designed performance management training, implemented an organizational assessment strategy, and facilitated strategic planning dialogue and action planning. Four years ago Bruce laid down his active practice and now does pro-bono consulting for nonprofits, leads service trips for the Sierra Club, and provides pro-bono mediation though the Center for Conflict Resolution.
Max Davis, J.D. is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School. He practiced law from 1972-78 with Ross & Hardies, specializing in tax and pensions. In 1978 he joined Centel Corporation as Associate General Counsel and Vice President, President and eventually Executive Vice President. Max participates in a weekly pastoral visiting program at Mather Pavilion and is a frequent volunteer at Northwestern’s Speech and Language Disorders program. Max and his wife have lived in Evanston, Ill. for over 30 years and have two adult sons.
Jane Doyle, Ph.D. is Executive Director and a co-founder of Center of Independent Futures. She has over 20 years supervisory, teaching, consulting, and fieldwork experience focused on transitioning young adults with disabilities into community lives. Jane has served on the faculties of National Louis University PACE Program and University of Illinois at Chicago, supervising graduate students’ teaching practicum in Chicago Public Schools. Jane and her husband, Dave, have a 29-year-old daughter with developmental disabilities.
Andrew Feldman is an alumnus of Indiana University where he earned a B.A. in Philosophy, a minor in Psychology, and a business certificate through the LAMP program. After graduation, Andrew worked for a small company researching and developing new exchange traded funds. Since 2006, Andrew has used this expertise to design and implement financial plans for his growing base of clients. His education and experience assist CIF to reach its goals. Andrew lives in Lincoln Park with his wife Jamie.
Michal Golden is a social worker with over 15 years of professional experience with individuals with disabilities. She coordinated a community living facility at Glenkirk Association for nine years and received an MSW from Loyola University Chicago. Michal has resided in Evanston, IL, with her family for more than 20 years and has been very active in the community. She served as PTA President of both Nichols Middle School and Dewey Elementary School and is currently involved with Evanston Township High School and the Evanston Community Foundation.
Suzanne Kenney, M.B.A. is a parent of a CIF resident and has over 30 years of business experience. In a career with Hewitt Associates that spanned three decades, she expanded Hewitt’s success through strategic marketing and public relations initiatives. She captured highly competitive clients and multi-million dollar sales, growing a $25 million business to $75 million. Suzanne is involved with a number of disability organizations including the Chicago Community Trust Persons with Disabilities Fund and Disability Works. She lives in Long Grove, Illinois, with her husband, Jim.
Ira Mitchell, Co-Chair is a Records Management Clerk at Oce Business services. He came to Evanston through the PACE program at National Louis University 16 years ago. Ira also served on the Board of Directors of Natural Ties, a nonprofit that served individuals with disabilities in Evanston. As an individual with disabilities he adds diversity and insight into his generation of adults with disabilities living and working in community.
Jean Prindiville, Ph.D. has been a special educator for more than 30 years at public schools in central and northern suburban Illinois. In 1984, Jean moved into administration and coordinated a variety of educational programs for students with autism and other disabilities. Jean was Principal of Stratford School in Highland Park, Illinois, from 1990 to 1996 before becoming Program Administrator of the Educational and Life Skills Transition Program of the Illinois Northern Suburban Special Education District. Now retired, Jean lives in Evanston and has one grandchild.
Jan Rauen, J.D. is a partner at Laner Muchin Dombrow Becker Levin Tominberg, Ltd., where she has practiced since 2001. With over 15 years of experience in labor and employment law, Jan has supported the development of CIF's personnel policies and presented employment guidelines to participants of CIF's New Futures Initiative. She has also served as an instructor in the paralegal program at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Jan received her B.A. from University of Illinois and her J.D. from Chicago-Kent Law School. She lives in Chicago with her husband and her son.
Chris White-Agee is Assistant Vice President at the Main Street branch of First Bank and Trust of Evanston. In her 30-year banking career, Chris has developed, implemented and evaluated bank sales and service standards and worked to ensure the institution of programs to obtain and retain customers in target markets. Chris has a variety of experiences with other boards and community affiliations including Family Focus, the Kiwanis Club of Evanston, and the Ladies Auxiliary Board of 2nd Baptist Church. Chris lives in Evanston with her husband.
