Educational and social opportunities for North Suburban Chicago area adults with disabilities

Many adults with disabilities and their families worry about social isolation, exclusion, and lack of opportunities to meet new people and make friends.

During CIF's Activities, adults come together for entertaining and educational events supported by CIF staff.

Activities take place in various locations throughout the area and are planned based on participants' input and interests.

Past activities have included:

Film screenings
Game nights
Barbecues and potlucks
Dating and Sexuality Seminar
Guest speakers
Drum Circle
Green Architecture Seminar
Visits from legislators and city officials
Eating on a Budget

In addition, CIF offers a regular Expressive Arts Studio for participants interested in pursuing art activities in an authentic studio setting.

Also, monthly Men's or Women's Groups led by credentialed professionals, explore topics common to the gender such as relationships, self-esteem, disability awareness, and self-advocacy. Both groups are safe places committed to building relationships among the participants by building on their common experiences.

Activities are open to members of CLO Residences and other community members.
