A group of interested CIF participants will be embarking on the first ever CIF Vacation in September 2010 to Walt Disney World in Florida.  The visionary behind the vacation is Jill Futransky, a Community Living Option resident and long-time participant with Center for Independent Futures.  Jill envisioned planning a vacation with her peers and her tutor, Julie Larson, is supporting her along the way to make her dream a reality.

Center for Independent Futrues is excited to announce our third annual Life Tools Camp to be held in August 2010. The last two years of Life Tools Camp resulted in many life skills learned and generated countless great memories. Fifteen campers attended both years, and two of those campers are now full-time CIF Community Living Option™ residents.

Center for Independent Futures is pleased to announce three new grants that will create new opportunities for individuals with disabilities to become more fully engaged as contributing citizens in the Evanston community. On May 25th, the Evanston Community Foundation awarded a grant for $15,000 to support CIF’s Full Life Futures Program at Evanston Township High School, an effort to facilitate network building and future planning for students in need of extra support as they transition to adult life in the community.
