CIF Celebrates Successful Matching Grant

June 29, 2015

Last week, Center for Independent Futures celebrated the completion of Evanston Community Foundation’s Partners for the Future challenge grant, through which CIF raised $200,000 to support its mission. Hosted at his home by CIF participant and Advisory Council member Ted Gram-Boarini, the celebration brought together CIF supporters, members of CIF’s staff and boards, and representatives from ECF.

This grant opportunity matches new and increased donations of $5,000 or more, allowing CIF to make strides toward long-term sustainability. “When we operate from a position of financial strength, we can continue to provide CIF’s creative and innovative services and respond to the emerging needs of individuals with disabilities and their families,” says Ann Sickon, CIF’s Executive Director.

At the celebration, Ann shared updates on CIF’s latest initiatives, including nationwide expansion of CIF’s New Futures Initiative housing training, CIF’s new satellite office in Highland Park, and a new project supported by a grant from the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities. With the support of our community, these and other initiatives will remain strong for years to come.

CIF would like to thank Ted and his family for hosting such a joyful evening! We are also so grateful to the following members of the Dream Keeper Circle, whose generosity in stepping up to the Partners for the Future challenge made this celebration possible:
