CIF Shares Soup and Community

March 11, 2015

There's nothing better in the winter than homemade soup and gathering with friends, and a recent event at Center for Independent Futures offered both.

Sunday Soup & Co., a concept developed by Evanstonian Alex Piper, brings people together to learn about organizations doing good work in the community. Over 50 guests gathered at the CIF office to warm up over soup and hear stories about the work CIF does in the community.

CIF participant and Auxiliary Board member Sarah Armour shared her story of what she's accomplished with the support of CIF, and Bonnie Dohogne shared the story of how CIF has supported her son's hopes and dreams. Finally, Niki Moe Horrell, CIF's Development Manager, updated the audience about CIF's newest projects and initiatives.

Inspired by the stories shared and what they learned about CIF, several attendees expressed interest in volunteering, and many others contributed financial gifts that evening. To learn more about Sunday Soup & Co., contact Alex Piper at
