Community Living Option (CLO) Residences
Based on a proven model imported from Massachusetts, the CLO Residences are community-based housing options available in North Suburban Chicago. Families working together obtain housing and funding to create CLO residences. All residents become contributing citizens who receive independent living skills training and assistance as well as support in making community connections. Each resident pays his or her own rent, living expenses, and support service costs from earned income, individual government benefits and/or private financial resources.

There are currently two CLO Residences located in Evanston, Illinois. Plans are underway for a third residence to open in 2006. Center for Independent Futures provides support services for the individuals living in the Evanston area CLO Residences. All residents and their families are members of the CLO Family Partnership.
