#GivingTuesday 2015 Supports Full Lives

December 4, 2015

On #GivingTuesday, December 1, the Center for Independent Futures community came together to see the difference one day could make in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and an incredible matching grant opportunity from the Coleman Foundation, we raised over $21,000!

Thank you so much for everyone who joined us to see what a difference one day could make in the lives of individuals with disabilities. The funds we raised on Tuesday will all support our Activities Program to create new opportunities for friendship, learning, and laughter for individuals with disabilities.

Too often, individuals with disabilities face social isolation and struggle to make connections. Our Activities Program can combat this serious issue through a robust calendar of social, educational, and cultural events. Last year, Center for Independent Futures participants cheered on the Cubs at Wrigley Field, gave back to their community through Volunteer Club, discussed relationship issues at Dating Club, and celebrated in costume at our Halloween party. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, next year will be full of even more chances to make friends, try something new, and find a place in the community.

Center for Independent Futures is grateful for all who supported our #GivingTuesday efforts by donating and spreading the word. #GivingTuesday 2016 will be November 29...mark your calendar for another day showcasing the impact of community!
