hope starts here

Welcome

How will you, your adult child or sibling, your student or your friend take the next step toward independence?

Graduation from high school should be a time for celebration. But for some families, it becomes a time of apprehension and frustration.

After all, the majority of high-school graduates go on to pursue higher education while young adults with disabilities go home to their bedrooms and their families. Whether it’s physical, cognitive, social or emotional, any disability almost certainly results in financial hardship, social exclusion and denial of basic citizenship.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. People with disabilities are entitled to a full, meaningful life.

The Center for Independent Futures is a not-for-profit organization that forms innovative partnerships to create product and service models that give adults with disabilities and their families the skills and opportunities to realize full lives. We use our proprietary processes to establish sustainable solutions through community living options, personal networks, lifelong planning and education.

Join us as we create new communities with renewed citizens—possessing abundant hopes and dreams, and gifts to contribute.
