CIF & ECF announce Partners for the Future Matching Grant Award

It was the perfect night to host a party, and FOUND Kitchen and Social House provided the perfect venue to host this party.  On Monday evening, December 1, 2014, a number of Center for Independent Futures (CIF) supporters, community partners and friends gathered for a reception to hear the official announcement of an exciting grant opportunity awarded to CIF by the Evanston Community Foundation (ECF). The Partners for the Future grant will provide CIF with up to $100,000 in a matching challenge.

“This event provides an opportunity to thank many who have supported us since we opened our doors twelve years ago,” stated Ann Sickon, CIF Executive Director, to the audience of nearly 100, “and to introduce new people to the work that we are doing to support individuals with disabilities.”

Sara Schastok, President and CEO of ECF, announced the grant award to those gathered at FOUND.  “We believe that CIF is in a position to use this opportunity to take them to the next level in Evanston, expanding the organization’s reach and building long-term sustainability,” said Schastok.

Under the grant award, Center for Independent Futures will receive a 1:1 match for each new or incremental gift of $5,000. Gifts will be matched by the ECF Partners for the Future Fund, up to a total of $100,000 through June 2015. Donors will join CIF’s Dream Keeper Circle. Dream Keeper Circle members are included in engaging leadership activities including educational lectures, new initiatives, and briefings by CIF staff.

Other benefits of Dream Keeper Circle membership include:

  • Dream Keeper member forums
  • Dream Keeper donor reception
  • Complimentary registration for CIF’s Something’s Cooking event
  • Priority seating at CIF’s annual SPARK benefit
  • Listing in the CIF annual report
  • Complimentary registration for MB Financial Bank Bike the Drive

Along with these benefits comes the reward of knowing that your gift is making a difference in our communities.

“We are proud to have been selected as the 4th grantee of this exciting new initiative,” stated Sickon. “We will work hard to ensure that your generous donations have a valuable and lasting impact within our community.”
