Right now, you’re probably the main advocates for your loved one with a disability. You protect that loved one from the psychological impact of being a marginalized person in our society. But what will happen when you no longer can serve as an advocate? Who will take on that role? And, you might have other questions as well:

• How will my loved one sustain their quality of life after I am gone?
• Who will monitor the quality of life of my child?
• Who cares as much as I do?
• Where will my son or daughter with a disability get support?
• With whom will my disabled son or daughter socialize?
• Where do I get support?
• How can I sustain energy over a long period of time?
• How can I build support for other family members in managing life issues for my son or daughter with disabilities after I die?
