Team CIF Kicks Off Training

June 12, 2015

For nine dedicated members of the Center for Independent Futures community, the next four months will be filled with training and fundraising as they prepare for the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. These runners are taking on the challenge of 26.2 miles to raise funds and awareness for CIF.

Team CIF 2015 includes…

  • 6 first-time marathoners
  • 3 returning team members
  • 1 CIF staff member
  • 1 family member of a CIF participant
  • 3 members of the Northwestern University community (a professor, an alumnae, and a student)
  • 3 runners who live in California
  • 3 runners who learned about CIF through friends

All of our runners have different reasons for running  and different goals for their marathon journeys, but they’ll come together on race day as they run for hopes and dreams. Each runner has committed to raising $1,000 to support CIF’s mission of creating new solutions for individuals with disabilities and their families.
