Training Begins for Team CIF Marathon Runners

June 13, 2016

On October 9, seven members of the Center for Independent Futures community will join 45,000 runners at the starting line of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Alongside their goals for the race, our Team CIF runners are raising funds and awareness to support individuals with disabilities and their families.

Over the next four months, the runners will fit demanding training schedules into their lives, running early in the morning before work or working out in the evening after a long day. They’ll spend many weekend hours on runs that will get longer and longer as they prepare to take on the final challenge of 26.2 miles.

And Team CIF is making those miles count. Each runner has committed to raising at least $1,000 to support Center for Independent Futures’ mission of creating new solutions for individuals with disabilities.

To honor the hard work our runners are undertaking on this journey, you can support Team CIF by helping them reach their fundraising goals.
