Volunteer Club Celebrates Spring

April 3, 2015

On the last day of March, Center for Independent Futures’ Volunteer Club gathered to do a project in support of Hemenway United Methodist Church’s weekly soup kitchen.

To celebrate that spring has sprung, volunteers decorated colorful placemats for the soup kitchen to brighten the days of those in need. Volunteer Club has done this project in the past and was thrilled to do it again this year. Using bright paper, clip art, stickers, and markers, volunteers let their creativity shine and made over 25 beautiful placemats with heartfelt messages to be used at an upcoming soup kitchen.

Many thanks to all of the volunteers who contributed time and effort to these projects! We look forward to the fun and collaboration of future service opportunities. Please contact Becca at bkaplan@independentfutures.com if you are interested in learning more or if you have ideas for ways our volunteers can give back to the Evanston community.
